<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a gradation correction table in which a gradation characteristic table of arbitrarily selected image structures includes color detection data of the other image structures matched therein and to equally adjust hues among a plurality of kinds of image structures. <P>SOLUTION: This image forming apparatus comprises an operating means 14 for operating to select one of the image structures #i from the plurality of kinds of image structures #i, image forming units 10Y, 10M, 10C, 10K for forming a plurality of reference patches PR which are the selected image structures #i having different densities on an intermediate transfer belt 6 through photosensitive drums 1Y, 1M, 1C, 1K, a color detection sensor 12 for detecting color information of the reference patches PR formed on the intermediate transfer belt 6, a processor 61 for forming the gradation characteristic table of the image structures #i based on the color information and forming the gradation correction table, and a controlling means 15 for controlling to form the gradation correction table of the other image structures #i by making the gradation characteristic table as the reference. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
