PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dissolve such problems that a head threshing requires less amount of cereal stems to be fed compared with a usual combine work carried out by traveling in a farm field and more threshing and selecting works by intermittently feeding the cereal stems, thus, the usual selecting work can not be carried out during the head threshing and purely selected first grains are difficult to be harvested caused by a high rate of contamination of second grains falling onto a first conveying screw. SOLUTION: This threshing apparatus for combines is constituted by installing a threshing and conveying device 3 constituted of a conveying chain 1 and a nipping rod 2 along a threshing chamber 4 and a transit guide 5 elastically pressed to the side of the conveying chain 1 on the starting end of the threshing and conveying device 3. The transit guide 5 is constituted to be operated to move in the direction apart from a transit guide position and, when the transit guide 5 is operated to move, grains flowing down from the shaking selection shelf 7 in a selection chamber 6 to the side of a first conveying screw 8 are limited compared with the usual threshing and selection work.
