PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the internal crack and the breakout caused by the internal crack when a round billet is continuously cast. SOLUTION: This cooling method is applied at just below a mold when the round billet is continuously cast from molten steel having 0.3-1.0 wt.% carbon content. In this way, the round billet having sound interval quality without the internal crack, can be produced.
