PURPOSE: A method for tuning radio stations is provided to make one functional button replace three broadcasting station tuning modes and to generate a beep signal before a seek time is started when three composite functions are performed, so that a user can easily recognize a present functional mode. CONSTITUTION: If a tune up/down key is pressed, a micro computer retrieves time to take while the key is pressed. If the time is under a preset time for deciding functions, the micro computer converts a mode into a manual up/down functional mode and performs frequency up/down processes as one step, to tune a radio station. If the time is over the preset time, the micro computer generates a beep signal during a predetermined time and confirms whether the tune up/down key is off. If the tune up/down key is pressed after generating the beep signal, the micro computer converts the mode into a speed manual up/down functional mode to tune a radio station. If the tune up/down key is off, the micro computer converts the mode into a seek up/down functional mode and tunes a radio station with a seek up/down function.
