PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inspection device capable of coping with narrow inlet gaps. SOLUTION: An air gap inspection device 100 may include a mast 110, and an inspection head 160 attached to the mast 110. The mast 110 may have a form of a freely extendable pipe. The mast 110 can be manufactured by spring steel, a nickel alloy or a carbon fiber composite material. The mast 110 may include a contraction profile and an expansion profile.
