<p>A tapered roller bearing has a roller coefficient ? exceeding 0.94, wherein at least any one member out of an inner ring (2), an outer ring (3) and a rolling element (4) has a nitrogen rich layer, the particle size number of austenite crystal grain in the nitrogen rich layer is in a range exceeding #10, the large flange face (2b) of the inner ring (2) is constituted of a conical surface (a) touching a tapered roller large end face (4a) and a flank (b) continuous smoothly to the outside of the conical surface and curved in the direction of separating from the tapered roller large end face (4a), and a holder (5) consists of a small annular portion (6) continuous on the small end face side of a tapered roller (4), a large annular portion (7) continuous on the large end face side of the tapered roller (4), and a plurality of columns (8) for coupling these annular portions. A trapezoidal pocket (9) is formed between adjoining columns (8) with a portion for containing the small diameter side of the tapered roller (4) set on the small width side and a portion for containing the large diameter side set on the large width side and cuts (10a, 10b, 10c) are provided in the small width side column (8) of the pocket (9).</p> |
