The invention relates to methods of rough grinding of welded rail-joint by abrasive roughing wheel.The method is based on using regime of power grinding with peripheral velocity abrasive of wheels rotation up to 75 m/s in a closed module provided with exhaust grinding means and combined extract and input ventilation.The module is mounted stationary or adapted to move relative to rail feeding.Working members (1) and (2) for grinding upper perimeter part of welded joint and (3) for grinding rail base are connected to electric grinders (4) and have abrasive wheels (5) and (6). Abrasive wheels (5) are suspended on manipulators (7) connected to trolleys (8) and (9) of a hoisting jack (10), wherein the abrasive wheel (6) is mounted on a carriage (11), The wheels are adapted to move freely relative to a rail being grinded.Grinding wastes from the grinding zone are removed through a joint pipe (16) of the exhaust ventilation unit (13) provided with an air cleaning means.The cleaned air is recirculated to the module through hoses (14) via ventilation guides (15).Simultaneously, fresh air is fed into the module using input ventilation (17).The method provides enhancement of production output and quality of work and proceed further to fine grinding automatically, secures safety engineering during mechanical treatment of rails by abrasive tools.
