PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a discharge lamp lighting device in which a discharge lamp can be made adaptable to a different low-frequency alternate current power supply voltage by changing rectification operation of the low-frequency alternate current power supply voltage of a neutral point type noninverting inverter. SOLUTION: The discharge lamp lighting device is equipped with the neutral point type noninverting inverter NNI including a bridge type rectification/converter circuit BRC in which a series circuit of a pair of switching elements Q1, Q2 and a series circuit of a pair of rectification elements D1, D2 are connected in parallel, an inductor L1 inserted into a position on the circuit in which both the low frequency alternate current and a high frequency current of this circuit bidirectionally flow, a chopper circuit BUC including at least either one of a feedback circuit FBC to feedback counter-electromotive force formed here and the switching element, and a smoothing capacitor C1, a power supply voltage switching means VSW to change an adapted voltage of a low frequency alternate current power supply AC by opening and closing either one D1 of the pair of the rectification elements to the series circuit, and the discharge lamp DL which is lighted by being applied of a high frequency voltage.
