The present invention relates to a method for varying the physical properties of a set of mechanical fasteners present on a garment in order to reduce the probability of errors when attempting to match the fasteners into the correct pairs. Where a set of fasteners comprises a number of adjacent pairs of fastening elements the physical properties of the elements which make up any interacting pair are made to be the same but the characteristics of adjacent pairs are made to be different. Physical properties can include colour, shape, size, magnetic polarity, orientation, pattern or type. |
