PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spectrum compressor that can realize high spectrum compressibility.SOLUTION: A spectrum compressor 100 includes: a second wavelength dispersion section 102 outputting a second dispersion optical signal 21 by providing a second optical signal 20 having a second center frequency different from a first center frequency of a first dispersion optical signal 11 with second wavelength dispersion with a second dispersion amount twice or half as large as a first dispersion amount of the first dispersion optical signal 11; and a four-wave mixing section 103 outputting an optical signal 30 subjected to spectrum compression by generating four-wave mixing with the first and second dispersion optical signals 11 and 21 synchronizing with each other.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
