PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop and provide a juvenile hormone sensor capable of detecting and quantifying juvenile hormones at high sensitivity.SOLUTION: A juvenile hormone-specific biosensor protein is provided, which is a juvenile hormone-binding protein of lepidopteran origin modified or linked, at a specific side, with two types of phosphors having different fluorescence characteristics, or the like. When a juvenile hormone binds with the sensor protein, a conformational change of the juvenile hormone-binding protein causes a resonance energy transfer (FRET) between the phosphors. High-sensitivity detection and quantification of the juvenile hormone can be done by detecting the change in energy.SELECTED DRAWING: None |
