The present invention relates to a plastics-material strapping band (4) for wrapping around one or more articles. The plastics-material strapping band has the following constituent parts: a) up to approximately 90% by weight polyester, b) approximately 1% by weight to 5% by weight polyolefin and c) approximately 5% by weight to 10% by weight fibre material. The invention also relates to a method for producing a plastics-material strapping band.
