An intervertebral disk endoprosthesis is filled with viscoelastic material and provided with cover plates at its end faces. The disc comprises a circular or elliptical corrugated tube surrounding and contiguous with the viscoelastic material and terminated by the cover plates. The cover plates are rigid, and the corrugated tube allows for less constrained tilting of the cover plates and further accommodates the compressive bulging of the viscoelastic material.
