End fitting with length adjustment for cable-operated actuator

The length adjuster (1) may be used especially for a "Bowden" (RTM) cable in a motor vehicle. There is an end-fitting (13) connected to a plastics sheath (12). The sheath surrounds and is bonded to the core (11) at the end of the actuator cable. A seal (15), e.g. an O-ring, fastens one end of a protective bellows (14) to the plastics sheath. The plastics sheath slides inside a guide tube (3) fastened inside a reinforced coupling tube (2). The guide tube is connected to an outer sleeve (5) which surrounds the end of the "Bowden" (RTM) cable (8). An adjustment sleeve, on the outside, with stop cams, is turned to adjust the length and engages the outer sleeve. There is a head-piece (7) with tongues projecting toward the "Bowden" (RTM) cable.
