PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent contact of a crankshaft to a rotational system by promptly recovering lubricating oil to a deep bottom part of an oil pan. SOLUTION: First and second oil return passages 20, 22, extending in the longitudinal direction of an engine, are formed on both sides in the engine width direction of an shallow bottom part of an oil pan. Oil drop hole guides 32A to 32D for guiding lubricating oil discharged from oil drop holes 36A to 36D on the engine main body site to the oil return passages 20, 22 are attached to baffle plates 24, 26 for defining the upper surfaces of respective oil return passages 20, 22. An inlet part 38, opened so as to face the rotational direction of a crank shaft, is formed on the first oil return passage 20 which becomes the downstream side in relation to the rotational direction of the crank shaft.
