PURPOSE: An apparatus for checking a cathode ray tube using electron scanning beam is provided to check if the cathode ray tube is poor or not rapidly and easily. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for checking a cathode ray tube using electron scanning beam includes a vacuum chamber(8) divided into a medium vacuum chamber(4) and a high vacuum chamber(6) by a partition(26), a rubber packing(12) for maintaining vacuum state inside a panel glass(10), an electron gun(14) emitting electron beam, a deflection coil(16) for deflecting the electron beam, a controller(18) for controlling the electron gun, defection coil, and electron beam, a medium vacuum exhaust apparatus(20) accomplishing the medium vacuum state inside the medium vacuum chamber, and a high vacuum exhaust apparatus(22) accomplishing the high vacuum state inside the high vacuum chamber. The apparatus is constructed in such a manner that a shadow mask is set at the exposed panel glass and electron beam is scanned to check the shadow mask and the exposed state of a fluorescent layer while the panel glass and the vacuum chamber are in a medium vacuum and an electron gun is in a high vacuum.
