PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an earthquake safety breaker preventing a second disaster such as a fire, by breaking down a power supply to an electrical appliance when an earthquake occurs. SOLUTION: In a casing 11 having a plug edge 12 inserted in a plug socket on the power supply, a weight made of conductive materials 23 is suspended elastically and in such a manner that displacement can occur vertically and horizontally through upper and lower springs 21 and 22 used as an extension coil spring, while a collector 24 of conductive materials is arranged in the shape of cross section L in such a manner that it surrounds such weight 23. The plate voltage of the plug socket on the power supply side is applied to the weight 23 as well as grounding the collector 24 to break down the power supply of the electrical appliance through the function of a ground-fault interrupter(GFI) by detecting contact through the GFI having installed in the building when the vibrating weight 23 is in touch with the collector 24 inside the casing 11 when an earthquake occurs.
