PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a negative electrode for a nonaqueous battery capable of enhancing capacity efficiency in initial charge/discharge, improving problems such as large initial capacity loss and low stability in charge/discharge, reducing reaction resistance per unit area of the electrode, and enhancing the output of the battery. SOLUTION: The negative electrode for a nonaqueous battery capable of releasing and storing lithium in oxidation-reduction contains fine particles integrally containing copper and tin as an active material.
