PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve display quality by using a subfield driving and a time-division driving at the same time. SOLUTION: A data conversion circuit 6 outputs subfield data Ds which regulates an on voltage to drive a pixel 2 or an off voltage not to drive the pixel 2 in a subfield unit according to gradation data D to regulate gradation of the pixel 2. A driver IC 41 outputs the time serial data for a plurality of the pixel components to output lines DO 1 to DO i. A time-division circuit 43 sequentially outputs the data obtained by time-dividing the time serial data to each of a plurality of the data lines X disposed in correspondence to the output lines DO.
