PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a latch actuating mechanism for a drawer, wherein an engaging part is reliably released at the same time as a pulling-out action of a pull handle while, in pulling out the drawer, a latch can be smoothly operated without having the latch actuating mechanism longer or more complicated even when an eccentric force is applied to the pull handle. SOLUTION: The pull handle 5 of the drawer 2 has a laterally broad hand-hooking part 6 and a pair of sliding part 7 capable of sliding from both ends of the hand-hooking part toward a front plate 3. The latch actuating mechanism is composed of a first operating member 10 of a recessed shape when viewed from the front, whose upward pieces 11 at both ends are connected to an extension part extending backward from the sliding part 7 and wherein a horizontal piece 14 for connecting the bottom parts of the upward pieces 11 is arranged below an engaging part 49 and is axially fitted with a shaft 25 at its both ends in free tilting movement. The latch actuating mechanism also includes a second operating member 15 composed of a right- and a left-end parts 16 connected with the right and the left upward pieces 11 and a horizontal member 17 axially fitted with a slide shaft of a channel shape when viewed from the top.
