PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermoplastic resin composition having small rate of change of refractive index by temperature and excellent in transparency. SOLUTION: An objective lens 7 as optical element in the present invention is composed of the resin composition in which inorganic microparticles are dispersed into a resin. In the resin composition, when a correlation distance of two phase structure composed of an inorganic microparticle phase and a resin phase is defined as A, the correlation distance A satisfies a condition specified by formula (1): 1 nm≤A≤20 nm and when volume fraction of the inorganic microparticles occupied in the resin composition is defined asΦ, the volume fractionΦsatisfies a condition specified by formula (2): 0.2≤Φ≤0.6.
