PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically cope with a communication fault by capturing internal data of a router in a monitoring system utilizing a network through the use of the router and a MODEM. SOLUTION: The monitoring apparatus includes: input modules 343, 345 for receiving a signal from a monitoring object 303; a CPU module 341 for processing signals from the input modules 343, 345; a communication module 342; a data bus 352; and a power module 340. The communication module 342 includes two or more connectors 204, 206 connected to the network, respectively, a connection terminal connected to a power bus 351, a connection terminal connected to the data bus 352, a memory, and a CPU.
