PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric motor of a compact type, high quality and high performance which reduces cracks of resin insulation of a stator for the electric motor, and decreases a coil end height. SOLUTION: In the electric motor in which the resin insulation is applied to an axial end face of the stator, and a coil is wound around teeth of the stator in a concentrated winding manner, the resin insulation is constituted by an inner peripheral sidewall, an outer peripheral sidewall, and a coil shell portion which winds the coil to connect the inner sidewall and the outer sidewall. A shape of a slot is polygonal, and the slot is constituted by a corner portion and a slot bottom portion, wherein the corner portion is 90 degrees or more in narrow angle which is formed by intersection of a teeth side face and a yoke side face, and the slot bottom portion is positioned toward an outside diametrical side of a stator core rather than the corner portion. In the slot, the outer peripheral sidewall of the resin insulation is positioned where the outer peripheral sidewall is raised toward an outside diametrical side of the stator rather than the corner portion in which the teeth side face and the yoke side face intersect.
