<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reversible thermal recording medium capable of improving durability to breakage, bending and deformation corresponding to a potential lifetime of a reversible thermal recording layer which is to be potentially durable to reuses of 500 times. <P>SOLUTION: The reversible thermal recording medium is characterized by providing at least the reversible thermal recording layer and a substrate, and satisfying a folding test of the following conditions. The folding test is performed as follows. A narrow tablet-like sample with a width of 20 mm and a length of 150 mm is cut out, and when it is folded in two at the center and a roller covered with a rubber layer with a spring hardness of 80±5 Hs and a thickness of 6 mm prescribed by a contact bonding apparatus in the paragraph 8.2.3 of JIS Z 0237 (1991) and with a width of approximately 45 mm, a diameter (including the rubber layer) of approximately 95 mm and a mass of 2,000±50 g is made to run thereon back and forth for 20 times, a visible fold is given, and thereafter, after it is left for 24 hours under an environment of a temperature of 25±2°C and a humidity of 60±5%, the angle in which the fold is made to be a vertical angle becomes ≥90° and <180°. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
