<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat sink capable of effectively functioning a working fluid (water) being a cooling medium having superior heat transmission performance. <P>SOLUTION: The heat sink comprising a combination of a sealed two-phase thermosyphon and a water cooling jacket 2 having larger heat conduction area than a heat source 2 easily achieves boiling heat transmission in a negative pressure state, and also uses heat movement using steam produced by boiling as a medium, so the heat conduction area can easily be increased and heat flux decreases by the expansion to perform heat removal by water single-phase cooling at a low flow rate. Further, boiling in a sub-cool state in the sealed two-phase thermosyphon 1 is actualized by employing a structure wherein the heat source 3 is put close/opposed to the water cooling jacket 2 with the flat two-phase thermosyphon 1 interposed, thereby further improving the boiling heat transmission. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
