TETRAALKYLAMMONIUM CARBOXYLATE SALT AS TRIMERIZATION CATALYST FOR SPRAY FOAM APPLICATION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing polyisocyanurate/polyurethane spray foam using a trimerization catalyst composition having tetraalkylammonium salt of a sterically hindered carboxylic acid or anα,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid. SOLUTION: The method for producing polyisocyanurate/polyurethane spray foam includes spraying a composition produced in the following way to a surface. The composition is produced in a spray mixing head by bringing a polyisocyanate into contact with a polyol composition, which comprises at least one polyol and an effective amount of a catalyst composition comprising at least one tetraalkylammonium carboxylate salt of formulas 1 and 2 for catalyzing the trimerization reaction, in the presence of at least one blowing agent (the at least one blowing agent is not a chlorofluorocarbon).
