PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To acquire a high-precision signal by: disposing protruding magnetic poles at 180-degree symmetrical positions of a ring-shaped stator; making up a pair of channel sensors using a rotor whose outer circumference is concave-convex shaped; and using the sum of output signals from the respective channel sensors. SOLUTION: A rotary type finite angle detector includes: first and second protruding magnetic poles (2 and 2A) disposed at 180-degree symmetrical positions on the inner face (1a) of a ring-shaped stator (1); a rotor (4) having first and second convex portions (4A and 4B) on its outer circumference; a first channel sensor (10) formed of the first protruding magnetic pole (2) and the first convex portion (4A); and a second channel sensor (11) formed of the second protruding magnetic pole (2A) and the second convex portion (4B).
