PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and surely identify positions at which cameras are installed, in a camera position recognizing system. SOLUTION: In a camera position recognizing system, an index member of which the shapes to be photographed by cameras 2A-2D are different in accordance with positions of the cameras 2A-2D, is photographed by the cameras 2A-2D, and a host device acquires pictures P1-P4 photographed by the cameras 2A-2D, determines camera identification information on the basis of a difference between shapes (L1, L2) of the index member in the acquired pictures P1-P4 and imparts the determined camera identification information to each camera.
