Specifically, a coating application device, wherein the coating application device is configured so as to be provided with: nozzles for discharging a coating liquid; a head for retaining a plurality of the nozzles; a drive unit for moving the head and a coating application object relative to each other so as to move the head to a coating liquid discharge position; a position detection unit for detecting the position of the head relative to the coating application object; a storage unit for storing discharge position coordinates for discharging the coating liquid for each nozzle; a register for retaining, for each of the nozzles, the discharge position coordinates for each of the nozzles, the discharge position coordinates being read from the storage unit; a mediation unit for causing the discharge position coordinates to be retained in advance in the register before the position detection unit detects the position corresponding to the discharge position coordinates; a comparator provided for each of the nozzles, for comparing the discharge position coordinates of the nozzles retained in the register and the position detected by the position detection unit; and a discharge drive waveform generating unit for generating a drive waveform for discharging the coating liquid from the corresponding nozzle when it is determined as a result of comparison by the comparators that the position of the corresponding nozzle is a position to which to discharge the coating liquid.
