PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a soil improvement method capable of reducing a cost without increasing foundation strength beyond necessity to prevent liquefaction.SOLUTION: A soil improvement method solidifies and improves the ground 1 immediately beneath a structure 10 such as a road embankment by: solidifying and improving a region 2 necessary for stability with respect to deadweight load of a structure 10 by solidification piles 8; constructing boreholes 6 from a ground surface 1a in the region 2 necessary to secure stability of the structure 10 in the ground 1 which liquefies at the time of an earthquake; inserting air injecting pipes 7 down to lower edges of the boreholes 6; and getting the region 2 unsaturated by injecting air A into the region 2, which is solidified and improved by the solidification piles 8, through injection holes of the air injecting pipes 7. |
