<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To actualize high speed activation in an electronic device and a method for power supply state control of the electronic device. <P>SOLUTION: If a user performs a power on operation for a television receiving unit 140, the television receiving unit 140 starts activation of its system. A disk player 120 detects a change in an HPD signal and shifts its power supply state from an OFF state to a standby state. After system startup is completed and it goes into an ON state, the television receiving unit 140 sends a Power-on signal of <User Control Pressed> to a disk player 120 via a CEC line of an HDMI cable as an operating information of power on. The disk player 120 shifts its power supply state from the standby state to an ON state, based on the operating information; and since the disk player 120 is in a standby state prior to the power on operation, merely shifting from the standby state to the ON state is required, when the power on operation is performed, the disk player can go into ON state for a short time; and accordingly, accelerated start-up is attained. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
