PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for controlling the amount of plating deposited on a hot-galvanized steel plate for manufacturing a stable hot dip metal coated steel plate with a uniform amount of plating deposited, even when a steel strip with an irregular shape is passed through. SOLUTION: This method uses a continuous hot dip metal coating facility equipped with a gas-wiping nozzle, positioned above a molten metal pot, for wiping off, via air-spaying, the molten metal deposited on the surface of the steel strip pulled out from the molten metal pot until a prescribed amount of plating has been reached, a direct-current magnetic field applicator for diminishing the vibration of the steel strip by an electromagnetic power, a position detector for detecting the distance from the steel strip and an air cushion for diminishing the vibration of the steel strip due to air-spraying. In manufacturing a continuously hot dip metal coated steel plate, the amount of plating deposited on the steel strip is controlled by controlling the magnetic field strength of the direct-current magnetic field, the flow rate of the air supplied to the air cushion and the position of the steel strip.
