PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and accurately focus a printing lens. SOLUTION: A focusing inspecting unit 10 is constituted of a focusing chart 11 and a holding frame 12. The focusing chart 11 is constituted of a glass substrate 20 and a parallel line pattern group 21 which is obtained by depositing aluminum on the glass substrate 20. The parallel line pattern group 21 is constituted of four kinds of parallel line patterns 22, 23, 24 and 25 having different pitches. The focusing chart 11 is fixed to the holding frame 12 with inclination. When the focusing inspecting unit 10 is set on the photographic film setting surface of a film carrier, respective parallel line patterns 22 to 25 are inclined with reference to the printing optical axis. In this state, a test print is formed. A just focal position is specified based on the defocused pattern of the obtained test patterns. The just focal position is easily and accurately specified.
