PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable gain amplifier which can reduce power consumption. SOLUTION: A voltage control current circuit 11 increases an intermediate control current I1 in proportion to the increase of a reference voltage Vref. A resistance element 14 converts the intermediate control current I1 into the input voltage of a transconductor 15A. Upon receiving the input voltage, the transconductor 15A feeds back a gain control current Igmr to a node N1. The gain control current Igmr flows through a resistance element 17, and the voltage of the node N1 is feedback-controlled to be equal to the reference voltage Vref. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
