PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a granulation assisting agent for slag by which granulation efficiency of slag is remarkably improved compared with the conventional binder. SOLUTION: The granulation assisting agent for granulating the slag contains a high polymer obtained by polymerizing (i) a monomer expressed by general formula (1) and (ii) a monomer selected from a group comprising acrylic acid, methacrylic acid, itaconic acid, maleic acid, fumaric acid, crotonic acid and the salts as essential components.
