PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent occurrence of negative modulation in texture working, to heighten orientation properties of magnetic crystal grains and to attain high recording density of a magnetic disk. SOLUTION: As the typical configuration of a manufacturing method of a glass substrate for the magnetic disk, the manufacturing method of the glass substrate for the disk like magnetic disk includes a step for forming a first texture 20 formed of a track crossing a circumferential direction at a prescribed angle by repeatedly moving a polishing tape 12 relatively to the rotated glass substrate 1 in its radial direction and a step for forming a second texture 21 formed of a track crossing the circumferential direction at an angle different from that of the first texture 20 in this order and is characterized in that the crossing angleαof the first texture 20 to the circumferential direction is larger than the crossing angleβof the second texture to the circumferential direction.
