PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording and/or reproducing apparatus that opens and closes a front panel by transmitting a driving force of a panel driving section to a pair of arms by a power transmitting section. SOLUTION: In the recording and/or reproducing apparatus, a tip part of a first arm 109 and a tip part of a second arm 110 are connected via shafts and bearing holes corresponding to the shafts at the both sides of the front panel 100, and thereby the first arm and the second arm are rotatable with respect to the front panel. At least one of the first arm and the second arm is driven as a drive arm, and the front panel whose operating section faces outward, moves from a fully closed condition to a fully opened condition. The driving section drives one of a pair of drive mechanism sections and thereby drives the other of the drive mechanism sections in conjunction with the one of the drive mechanism sections via the power transmitting section, and drives the drive arm, which is at least one of the first arm and the second arm.
