PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide AV equipment mounted with an HDD, in which secury of the HDD can be improved by concealing presence of the HDD. SOLUTION: In the AV equipment mounted with the HDD in which AV information is recorded, AV information recorded in the HDD is reproduced, and information indicating the presence of the HDD is displayed on a television set or the like, a pass word for identifying a user having usage authority of the HDD is registered, when the HDD concealing mode is set, access to the HDD and display of information indicating the presence of the HDD are prohibited, and when a pass word input from a remote controller or the like coincides with the registered pass word, prohibition of access to the HDD and display of information indicating the presence of the HDD are released.
