PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink-jet recording device and an ink-jet recording method capable of obtaining a naturally-finished recording result with low contamination of the recording device and a recording medium in the recording device which carries out borderless recording by using a liquid which is reacted with an ink and improves image quality. SOLUTION: Whether the imparting amount of the reaction liquid with respect to an end region Qb ranging from inside to outside of an end 51 of the recording medium has to be reduced to be less than a specified amount, which is determined in advance, or not is determined. When it is determined that the amount has to be reduced to be less than the specified amount, the imparting amount of the reaction liquid for the end region Qb is gradually reduced from the inside to outside of the recording medium.
