In this door opening and closing device for a vehicle: a handle case is attached to an outer panel of a door; an arm, which is provided to an outer handle that enables the door to be operated from the outside, is inserted through an opening in the handle case to project inside the outer panel and is rotatably supported to the handle case; and a returning spring, at least part of which is a coil part, is disposed between the handle case and a rotation member, said rotation member being positioned at the rear-surface side of the handle case, rotatably supported to the handle case, and interlocked and linked with the outer handle. The coil part (50a) of the returning spring (50) is surrounded by a dust-proof wall (51). Thus, even if a foreign object enters the outer panel of the door from a gap between the handle case and the arm of the outer handle, the foreign object is prevented from jamming in the returning spring and the operability of the outer handle can be maintained. |
