A fuel supply system and method for a ship engine are disclosed. The fuel supply system for a ship engine, which supplies fuel to the engine of a ship, comprises: a storage tank which stores liquefied natural gas (LNG) therein; a forcible vaporizer which receives the LNG from the storage tank to vaporize the LNG and supplies the vaporized LNG to the engine; a separator which controls the LNG to the methane number where the engine requires by removing heavy hydrocarbon (HHC) contained in the LNG vaporized in the forcible vaporizer; and an HHC tank which stores the HHC separated in the separator.
