PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide components of a medical infusion fluid handling system, such as an APD system.SOLUTION: In the components, one or more lines (30) (such as solution lines), spikes (160) or other connection ports can be subjected to at least either automatic capping or de-capping. This feature acquires advantages such as a reduced likelihood of contamination since no human interaction is required to de-cap the spikes or other connection ports and connect the lines. For example, a fluid handling cassette (24) includes one or more caps (63) that cover a corresponding spike (160) and include at least one between a raised feature and a recessed feature to assist in removal of the caps from the cassette. A solution line cap (31) may include a hole, a recess, a groove or other mechanisms to engage with a spike cap and remove the cap.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 33 |
