<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an economically competitive centrifugal compressor which has high reliability for safe operation and has a wide operation range. <P>SOLUTION: The centrifugal compressor 1 is provided with an impeller 5, a casing 7 for storing the impeller 5, a diffuser part 13 connected with a downstream of the impeller 5 and a volute part 15 connected with a downstream of the diffuser part 13 and compresses fluid by applying a centrifugal force to the fluid by rotating and driving the impeller 5. The centrifugal compressor is provided with separation walls 19, arranged at least in a diffuser part 13 and in a volute part 15, for forming a hub side flow passage 21 and a shroud side flow passage 23 by separating flow passages of the diffuser part 13 and the volute part 15 in a flowing direction of the fluid, a flow rate regulation valve 27, arranged for either one of the hub side flow passage 21 and the shroud side flow passage 23, for regulating a flow rate of the flow passages and a through-hole 33, arranged near a chip end 31 in the separation wall 19, for communicating the hub side flow passage 21 and the shroud side flow passage 23. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
