PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a lens, which is capable of objectively and quantitatively evaluating an influence of roughness a spectacle lens.SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing a lens includes a step of cutting at least one surface of a lens base material and a step of depositing a prescribed coat liquid on at least a partial area of the cut surface to form a hard coat film. The method further includes the steps of: measuring a shape of the cut surface having the hard coat film formed thereon to obtain surface property measurement data; obtaining a shape of roughness of the cut surface on the basis of the surface property measurement data; tracking a light beam in the case of incidence of parallel light on the cut surface on the basis of the shape of roughness; and obtaining a light amount distribution of light transmitted through the lens base material by tracking the light beam, on a virtual plane which is spaced from the lens base material by a prescribed distance and is perpendicular to an optical path of the parallel light. |
