PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately predict an engine rotational speed in a period in which the rotation of an engine is stopped after the engine rotational speed is lowered due to a combustion stop of the engine.SOLUTION: An ECU 30 comprises: first prediction means which sets an increase/decrease one-cycle amount of an engine rotational speed accompanied by an increase/decrease change of a cylinder capacity as a rotation pulsation period, and predicts a future engine rotational speed in a forward rotation area on the basis of the loss energy of a preceding rotation pulsation period; energy calculation means which inverts positive/negative codes of a friction component being energy loss which is generated by friction accompanied by the movement of a piston of an engine 20 out of components which are contained in the loss energy of the forward rotation area, and calculates the loss energy of a reverse rotation area on the basis of the friction component after the inversion of the codes, and a pumping loss component being an energy loss which is generated in an intake stroke.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
