摘要 <p>The laser ablation appts includes a laser source, an optical ablation system, and an ablation region changing device. A cornea shape imaging device images the desired shape of the optical zone of the cornea on which is superimposed the radiation through the optical ablation system. Data is input for determining a transition zone smoothly connecting the optical zone with a non-ablation region. A control device controls the movement of the ablation region changing device, in which the transition zone is determined from the input data. The laser is an excimer laser, and the transition zone shape is determined from the post-operative cornea curvature, and the desired post-operative cornea curvature, or from a curvilinear line inscribed within the post-operatively and post-operative intersection curves. USE/ADVANTAGE - Cornea curvature correction and/or removal of locally damaged areas of cornea. Ensures smooth and gentle cornea regeneration or healing.</p>
