<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface mount connector that has a stable flat contact surface. SOLUTION: The surface mount connector comprises a contact fixing member composed of a contact holding portion formed extendedly to the front of the separator and a terminal holding portion formed extendedly to the back of the separator. The terminal holding portion holds a terminal portion 31 with its bottom face of its contact portion at its top end horizontal and forms a shield cover terminal piece 146 which bends from the bottom parts of both right and left walls to the outside in the horizontal direction, and further comprises a shield cover 1 of a sectionally square cylindrical shape which forms a projection 144 on the bottom wall 12 protruding in the bottom direction and surrounds the contact member. The level of the bottom face of the terminal portion 31 and the level of the bottom face of the shield cover terminal piece 146 are set at a lower level by the height of the projection 144 against the reference level of the bottom wall 12 of the shield cover 1 as a reference level.</p> |
