PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a granular ultraviolet absorber having a sufficient strength to prevent a powder dust from generating in a handling operation without containing impurities such as a binder with regard to a benzotriazole-based ultraviolet absorber. SOLUTION: This method for producing the granular benzotriazole-based ultraviolet absorber is characteristically obtained by mixing the benzotriazole- based ultraviolet absorber represented by the general formula (I) (wherein, (n) denotes 1 or 2; R1 denotes H, a 1-18C alkyl, or the like, when the (n) is 1 and denotes a 1-8C alkylene when the (n) is 2; R2 denotes H, a 1-18C alkyl, or the like; R3 and R4 denote each H, a halogen, a 1-18C alkyl, an alkyloxy, an aryloxy or an aralkyl, independently; and R3 and R4 may form benzene ring by forming a linkage) with a kneading medium in an amount of 1-50 mass % based thereon to granulate and then removing the kneading medium by drying. |
