PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive method for constructing sodium-sulfur battery systems suitable for use as a stationary energy storage device. SOLUTION: In the method for constructing the sodium-sulfur battery system, the battery capacity of a group of sodium-sulfur batteries is set according to power consumption so that the battery capacity of the group of sodium-sulfur batteries used for a utilization purpose having large average discharge output becomes smaller than the battery capacity of the group of sodium-sulfur batteries used for a utilization purpose having small average discharge output.
