<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an assist device, assisting the movement of an agent without giving a sense of incongruity. <P>SOLUTION: In the assist device 1, an output of an actuator 12 is controlled so that on the requirement that a battery residual quantity SOC is a first threshold SOC1 or less, when the movement assisting rate of the assist device 1 is lower than that in the case where the battery residual quantity SOC exceeds the first threshold SOC1 and also lower as the movement assist enable time Tass decreases.
